At 2 a.m. on Friday, May 17, a 66-year-old Harrison woman was struck by a vehicle at Harrison Avenue and South 5th Street, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.

The driver of the striking vehicle, Robert Marmora, did not remain at the scene, Suarez said. The woman was transported to University Hospital in Newark with serious injuries to her lower and mid-body, Suarez said. During the course of the investigation, police identified Marmora’s Ford EcoSport as the vehicle involved in the collision, Suarez said.

Marmora was charged with knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle collision resulting in serious bodily injury and endangering the welfare of an injured victim, Suarez said.

He was released pending his first court appearance, which is scheduled for next month, Suarez said.
